A second circulation strike 1844 Seated dollar from a single die that features prominent doubling within the obverse shield. This example has muted steely fields due to a long ago wipe. The toning is secondary with mostly violet shades along with embedded gold, rose and blues that can be detected under a bright light. The overall presentation is still notable as compared to the host of washed out dollars seen in TPG holders.
